12 Best Tailgating Vehicles for 2015 Football Season

If you have to leave your hermetically sealed Sunday sanctuary of satellite football packages, endless snacks, cheap beer and controlled climate to attend a football game, you may as well do so in style.

Last season, NFL fans paid an average of $84 for tickets to the game and $31.50 for parking, according to Team Marketing Report. That's a whole lot to shell out just to stuff half a dozen friends into the family sedan, stick a far-undersized grill and use the rest of the cargo space left over for a handful of burgers and dogs and maybe a six pack of cans that has a Hail Mary chance of making it to gametime. Even if your car doesn't have the space and amenities to make a decent tailgate work, it might be worth your time to rent or even borrow a vehicle that does.

The folks at automotive pricing and buying sites Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book have each compiled lists of the cars they believe to be the best to take to a Sunday tailgate. We've taken the best of each bunch and featured them here. While they aren't the least expensive cars out there, most of them offer a surprising amount of perks and fuel efficiency for the money.
