Is this the next “Game of Thrones” book, “The Winds of Winter,” release date?

While Season 7 of Game of Thrones is still a year away, it’s (kind of) up in the air when Thrones fans can officially expect the next, and 6th, installment of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter.

However, The Winds of Winter book may actually be coming sooner than many of us had thought.

The BBC reports that on Amazon France’s site The Winds of Winter is listed as being published in its original English language on March 9th, 2017.

However, the book is not available for purchase yet as you can see by the heartbreaking “Currently Available” note at the top right of the page. Also, while the book is listed on Amazon France’s page, it has yet to be listed on any English-speaking Amazon sites…yet. So who knows how ~accurate~ this listing truly is.

BUT – it won’t stop us from getting excited, because as any Game of Thrones fan knows, (almost) everything we saw in Season 6 earlier this year was NEW to the fandom, i.e. even uber fans who’ve read all the Thrones books had no idea what was in store for this last season. And you may ALSO know that the show has deviated from the books in many ways, so it’ll be interesting to see what NEW info we get with the 6th book, The Winds of Winter.
