Marvel blew away D23 Expo with a stage-filling collection of heroes (and villain) assembled for Avengers: Infinity War. Back at its booth, the studio displayed costumes and props from its upcoming slate: Thor: Ragnarok (Nov. 3, 2017), Black Panther (Feb. 16, 2018), and Infinity War (May 4, 2018). Flip through our photo highlights to go behind the scenes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What’s Behind the Curtain?

A rumor spread through the expo that the characters under the shroud behind Thanos were going to be the Fantastic Four. Alas, that turned out not to be the case. (Photo: Marcus Errico/Yahoo Movies)

The Black Order

Instead, Brolin lifted the cloth to reveal the Black Order, a group of Thanos’s goons in the comics. The maquettes, used as models for the VFX team, included from left: Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Thanos, Ebony Maw, Black Dwarf. (Disney/Image Group LA)

Valkyrie and Grandmaster

Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) is an Asgardian warrior who has relocated to the hedonistic planet Sakaar, run by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). The brother of the Collector (Benicio Del Toro), Grandmaster enjoys nothing more than staging epic contests. He also sports some crazy sandals. (Photo: Marcus Errico/Yahoo Movies)
