From Harper's BAZAAR

  • Jennifer Aniston said she's "not ashamed" of posing topless while discussing her revealing cover shoot for Harper's BAZAAR's June/July 2019 issue with Ellen DeGeneres.

  • She continued with an empowering message, saying "no one should be" ashamed of showing their bodies.

Jennifer Aniston isn't afraid to strip down in front of the camera, and she believes that you shouldn't be either. During her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, the Friends alum proudly discussed going bare for her Harper's BAZAAR cover shoot.

"You enjoy being naked," Ellen said, holding up the magazine to the page with Aniston posting topless with shorts, tights, and heels.

"I love it!" Aniston exclaimed.

"Well you take very good care of yourself, and you enjoy doing activities," DeGeneres continued. "You're not ashamed of like when you're holding your breasts like that and getting a picture taken?"

"I'm not ashamed of that, no," Aniston said matter-of-factly. "No one should be."

DeGeneres even teased her, "Do it right now!" but Aniston said she'd only do so if Ellen joined in.

Even in her cover interview with comedian Tig Notaro, Aniston said posing shirtless "felt completely normal." She continued, "I think our bodies are beautiful, and I think celebrating them and being comfortable in them-no matter what age you are-is important. There shouldn’t be any kind of shame or discomfort around it."

The Dumplin' star and producer has been vocal about body positivity, especially after being the target for pregnancy speculation throughout her career in the spotlight. In a powerful essay she penned for the Huffington Post in 2016, she wrote:

"For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I’m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism,' the 'First Amendment' and 'celebrity news.'"

While speaking to DeGeneres today, she brought up a wild rumor she heard, again about her appearance, that she had a "million dollar body makeover." She laughed off the tabloid fodder. "It's quite entertaining though, isn't it?" she said. "I throw those away whenever I go into any kind of doctor's office."
