Helena Bonham Carter Drops Everything to Meet Internet-Famous Cat

Helena Bonham Carter is typically the one approached by fans, but this time she was the one excited to encounter celebrity when she met the TikTok-famous cat, Sigrid.

In a clip filmed in London, she showed her excitement at meeting the adorable kitty.

"Is she a Maine Coon?" she asked the cat's owner, Travis Nelson. He told her that Sigrid came from a line of Norwegian Forest Cats. "A Norwegian. You're extraordinary!" she exclaimed to the cat, whom she later called "amazing."

Nelson told The Crown star that he and the cat ride all over London on their bike. "Oh, do you like having rides?," asked Carter to the cat while petting her. "She's extraordinary. Beautiful, isn't she? Look at those ears! She's quite the cat," gushed the actress.

When Nelson began walking away with Sigrid after the pleasant interaction, wishing the actress a nice day, Carter said, "Nice to meet you Sigrid!"

The cat was profiled by Time Out in 2022, where Nelson shared how the viral bike rides started.

"I got made redundant during lockdown so I started riding my bike around the city' he says. 'And one day I thought it would be fun to take Sigrid with me, so I put her in my bike basket. She loved it, so we've been doing it ever since," he said.

Sigrid currently boasts over 795,000 followers on TikTok. Besides meeting Carter, she's also been in the presence of other celebrities. She recently met Great British Bake-Off fan-favorite Kim-Joy, who gifted Sigrid and Nelson a copy of her recipe book Bake Me a Cat.
