He's actually married to actress Nikki Reed. You might recognize her as Rosalie, Edward's sister from the Twilight movies. The two first sparked rumors of a romance in 2014 and by February 2015, they were engaged. In 2017, the couple welcomed their daughter, Bodhi Soleil. Judging by all their PDA-packed photos on IG, the married pair is still going strong.

Malese appeared on season 1 of The Vampire Diaries as a vampire named Anna Zhu. Though the relationship was never confirmed, Ian and Malese sparked dating rumors in 2013 when they were spotted getting cozy at an event called BloodyCon. It was rumored that this budding relationship was the reason for Ian's split from Nina.
Nina Dobrev
Ian and Nina go way back to when they first started filming The Vampire Diaries in 2009. Their chemistry turned into a relationship that lasted about three years before they broke up in May 2013.
They didn't end on bad terms though, according to Nina Dobrev who opened up about her time with Ian about a month after he married Nikki. "I've said this before, that we didn't break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn't love or friendship," Nina told E! News. "I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now."
Ashley Greene
It seems Ian has a thing for the Twilight ladies because he's also been linked to Ashley Greene who played Edward's sister, Alice, in the Twilight saga. The two sparked rumors when they attended a concert together in Vancouver in 2009 and were even seen kissing, according to Just Jared.
But if this relationship really was a thing, it seems it didn't end on a bad note.
