Kim Kardashian Deleted Manchester Bombing Tweet
Kim Kardashian, like many other public figures, reacted with shock and horror after hearing about the 22 victims and more injured from the bombing that took place at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, UK. The day after, she tweeted, "I can't imagine the fear and agony these parents must be going through searching for their kids 💔," then later, "I'm praying for everyone in Manchester. This is truly so senseless & heart breaking."

I'm praying for everyone in Manchester. This is truly so senseless & heart breaking.

But eagle-eyed Twitter users quickly pointed out that Kardashian had actually tweeted something else about the Manchester bombing:
Kardashian's contentious tweet reads, "Concerts are supposed to be a place where u can let loose & have fun. So scary to not feel safe in this world. @arianagrande I love you." It also included a photo of her, half-sister Kendall Jenner, and Grande. But as the Daily Dot reports, not everyone was pleased with how Kardashian framed her well-wishes:
Kim Kardashian really posted a pic of herself at a party with Ariana Grande as a tribute to what happened in Manchester

@KimKardashian We're never going to forget when you posted an inappropriate pic and made the #Manchesterbombing all about you. (Screenshots are forever.) pic.twitter.com/lsZlptqWio

The main criticism of the tweet lies in how Kardashian chose to express her sympathies. By adding that photo of herself and Grande having fun, it might've seemed as though she only cared about the bombing as "ruining" the evening's show - though of course, she'd sent out other messages further expressing her sympathy to the victims and their families.
Kardashian wasn't the only one who chose to share a message to Grande and an ode to the concert experience. Miley Cyrus, for example, shared this post on her Instagram:
And many of Grande's musician peers, including Lorde, Katy Perry, and JoJo, mentioned Grande by name and/or repeated the assertion that concerts should be safe and love-filled spaces.
Ultimately, how much of the Kim K. hate is due, well, to the fact that she's a Kardashian? It wasn't just her fans who came to her defense online:
@StephanieSidley @KimKardashian I think she waa trying to also show Ariana her support here more than anything. But as usual it gets taken a different way when it's Kim

@StephanieSidley @KimKardashian It's her & Ariana at a concert, she meant well. She only deleted it because of ridiculous people like you. Bore off with your remarks girl
