    New Vikings TE Robert Tonyan Could Be Needed During T.J. Hockenson's Absence

    Looking for additional tight end depth to help them survive what's expected to be at least a 4-6 week absence for T.J. Hockenson, the Vikings brought in veteran Robert Tonyan for a workout earlier this month. The Vikings signed Tonyan to a one-year contract last week. Wearing No. 40 at OTAs this week, he made several catches, including a pretty snag on a back-shoulder ball from Nick Mullens for a big gain.

    T.J. Hockenson is healing up from a season-ending injury he suffered last season. While there is no timetable on when Hockenson will be able to suit up for the Vikings in 2024, he's more than likely going to be back on the field during a Week 14 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Former Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins will be back in Minnesota but on the opposite sideline of where fans and teammates got used to seeing the quarterback for six seasons. Cousins is fighting back from a season-ending injury he suffered last year as well, but he should be ready to go in Week 1 for Atlanta.
