The sunny shores of California may be known for its endless summer, but for anyone looking for a bit of warm-weather inspiration, Sarah Michelle Gellar is here to serve up a candy-colored confection of a dress that'll have just about everyone ready for a party.

The actress attended yesterday's Daily Front Row's eighth-annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards in Beverly Hills wearing a tiny, shimmering Oscar de la Renta dress that included a sweet ombré pattern that faded from a light aqua green shade into a silver color at her waist and transitioned into a bright pink at the super-short hem.

The allover sequins made the strapless mini ready for any kind of party, and Gellar finished the look with strappy heels and her signature blonde hair done up in loose, beachy waves. She kept her accessories to a minimum but added a statement-making Graziela ear crawler-style earring that included a fringe detail and she wore two major '00s throwbacks: a two-finger ring (also from Graziela) and a thin French manicure.

Fashion Week regulars will recognize the publication as one of the industry's most notable, with copies of the print edition scattered on editors' seats at just about every show. Having been previously owned by IMG (yes, that IMG), it became a staple of the NYFW scene. Since then, the publication has pivoted to the American fashion industry and celebrity style.

This year the publication's ceremony honored Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God with Designer of the Year, Erin Walsh as Style Curator of the Year, Anastasia Soare as Beauty Innovator of the Year, Amelia Gray with Model of the Year, Elsa Hosk as the Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year, Brett Alan Nelson with Music Stylist of the Year, Adir Abergel for Hair Stylist of the Year, Rachel Goodwin with Makeup Artist of the Year, and The Hollywood Reporter's Maer Roshan as Editor of the Year.

Along with Gellar, famous guests at this year's Beverly Hills soirée included Doja Cat, Jennifer Garner, Ryan Murphy, Rachel Zoe, Lisa Rinna, Dani Michelle, and Katie Grand.

Speaking on the enduring appeal of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its influence in the world of '00s fashion, Gellar spoke about how she regrets not keeping more of her wardrobe from the beloved series. She explained that her 14-year-old daughter, Charlotte, is currently looking for chokers and wearing little tops over white T-shirts.

“Isn’t that crazy?” she asked. “When my daughter came back, and she’s like, ‘Do you still have any chokers?’ I was like, ‘What?’ Or she’ll come out with the white T-shirt with the dress over it.”

As for why she never thought to keep those wardrobe treasures, SMG added that growing up in New York meant that space was at a premium, and sentiment didn't play into culling costumes.

“I think growing up in New York City, I grew up in a small apartment, and so we didn’t have room. There was never storage. I never grew up with the idea of holding onto this stuff," Gellar explained to Us Weekly. "Even now, it’s funny. I recently did a big purge, and I’ve been saving my purses and stuff for my daughter. But I’m like, ‘By the time she gets older, she doesn’t even going to want half my stuff.’ So, I’m trying to figure out what to hold onto.”
