Dax Shepard denies former model's claim that he cheated on Kristen Bell: 'That photo is 13 years old'
Everyone, relax: Love isn’t dead, and Dax Shepard didn’t cheat on Kristen Bell. The Ranch star is firing back after an old flame accused him of infidelity years ago.
Kayti Edwards, 41, claimed to the Daily Mail that she and Shepard, 43, first met in 2005 through mutual friends, but their casual relationship fizzled out. Edwards, who also happens to be the step-granddaughter of Julie Andrews, said they rekindled their romance in late 2009, when he was two years into his relationship with Bell. Edwards provided photos that show her and Shepard making out at a party.
Shepard isn’t denying that he and Edwards had a fling — but he says it didn’t happen when she alleges the tryst went down.
“Hey Daily Mail, that photo is 13 years old, not 9,” he said on Instagram. The actor also claimed that Edwards “has sold stories to tabloids about Matthew Perry, Jack Osbourne, Kid Rock.” In true Shepard fashion, he ended his social media statement with a joke, quipping that he hopes Brad Pitt is her next target.

This isn’t the first time Shepard and Bell have had to defend their five-year marriage from tabloid nonsense. In October, the couple hilariously trolled Star ahead of a story the magazine planned to run. In an email to Bell’s publicist, the tabloid claimed the pair “discussed having a threesome” and “toyed with other kinky things, like S&M and role playing.” The gossip mag also said Bell was into the idea as “insurance against marital meltdown.”
Instead of responding to Star’s requested deadline, Shepard posted a screenshot of the email with his response. “The only offensive thing about this bullshit story is that [Kristen] isn’t doing all this kinkiness out of horniness, but rather a desperate attempt to save her marriage,” he joked.
Bell reposted his Instagram, adding, “Id love to comment, but its hard to talk with this ball gag in!”
