Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard hilariously respond to a tabloid claim about their sex life

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard can handle the tabloids, thank you very much.

Star magazine reached out to the Veronica Mars actress’s publicist to get a comment on an upcoming story it planned to run. The tabloid claimed the pair “discussed having a threesome” and “toyed with other kiηky things, like S&M and role playing.” The gossip magazine also said Bell was into the idea as “insurance against marital meltdown.”

The magazine gave Bell a deadline to email a response, but Shepard took it upon himself to post one on social media. While he referred to the story as “bulls***,” he wrote that what actually offends him is that the tabloid said his wife wasn’t experimenting “out of horniness, but rather a desperate attempt to save her marriage.”

“I think we all know Bell is a lot more gangster than that,” he quipped.

They could have left it there, but Bell then chimed in with the kicker of all kickers. “Id love to comment, but its hard to talk with this ball gag in [my mouth]!” wrote the hilarious mom of two.

The couple’s relationship — 11 years and counting — has been in the headlines recently after Bell said in an interview that she smokes pot in front of Shepard, who has been sober for 14 years. While Shepard himself said he didn’t mind (“That would be like a diabetic expecting their partner to never eat dessert,” he said. “Get real!”), the internet had opinions of the negative variety.

Bell later said on The View, “I don’t deal with negative comments. … If you’re not using your critical thinking skills and you can’t give me the benefit of the doubt in a situation, and you just come at me, I don’t have time for that.” She added: “Sorry guys, I smoke weed. I like it.”

Don’t expect apologies — or denials — from them. They’re too busy living their best lives.
