The Photo That Makes Us Think This Thing Between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Is Actually Really Serious

Are things between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom more serious than they are letting on?
Over the weekend the pair took his son, Flynn, to a birthday party for Robert Downey Jr.’s son Exton. They were the picture of domestic bliss as they pulled up with Perry sitting in the back seat to keep the 5-year-old kiddo company.
The pair, first linked at a Golden Globes bash and looking couple-like last week at a dinner party, did nothing to hide the fact that they were together. Bloom flashed a peace sign to photographers. An eyewitness told Us Weekly that “Katy was entertaining Flynn so he wouldn’t get bored. It was a long drive and she was talking to him and making him laugh.” At the Jurassic Park-themed shindig, “Orlando was really focused on Flynn and walking around the party holding his hand. Katy stayed behind them most of the time and let them do their thing.”

The magazine reports that the “Roar” singer is just “having fun” with Bloom and she’s not “seeing this as long-term yet. It’s a fun hookup thing right now.” But there’s something — make that someone — that makes us question if that is true: Miranda Kerr.
Last month, the Australian supermodel and mom to Flynn told The Edit that she and Bloom, who are among the friendlier celebrity exes, have a firm rule about new relationships. “We had to know the person for six months and feel good about them” before a love interest is allowed to meet Flynn, she said. Kerr, who has been dating Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel since early last year, introduced her son — and ex-husband — to her boyfriend in the fall.
Based on this, there are a few possible scenarios we can come up with when we see Katy and Orlando out with his son:
1. They’ve been together longer than 6 months. They did look pretty close at the Golden Globes party. Maybe that wasn’t when they hooked up. Maybe it was just when the public found out about it?

2. Orlando doesn’t care about the rule. It’s possible, right?
3. Katy and Orlando are just friends. We’d say this is the least likely scenario, but it’s still possible. But, again, look at the Golden Globes party photo. That doesn’t scream friendship to us.
