New Yorkers Whiz Down Bike Lane in Motorized Lawn Chairs

Three people in New York City appeared to pay tribute to Nintendo’s Mario Kart when they drove motorized lawn chairs through an Upper West Side bike lane on September 3.

New York resident Elliot Katz was walking down Columbus Avenue and 86th Street when he spotted the trio driving their modified chairs.

“The people on the modified lawn chairs were obeying traffic laws and not acting recklessly,” he said.

“When I first saw them waiting at a stoplight, they were conversing with three NYPD officers, and the police seemed to enjoy the conversation and walked away amused by the riders,” Katz added. Credit: Elliot Katz via Storyful
