'The View': Sunny Hostin Likens White Republican Women To 'Roaches Voting For Raid'

Sunny Hostin is taking white women to task for their voting decisions on The View, comparing them to “roaches voting for raid.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hostin talked about how white women who vote Republican are voting for the very policies that will negatively affect them.

However, she used colorful language that does make her point while possibly ruffling feathers.

“What’s also surprising to me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just yesterday that white, Republican, suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid, right?”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, one of the two outspoken Republicans who are part of the daytime talk show, claimed that Hostin's analogy was "insulting" to voters

But Hostin continued, saying that the women are “voting against their own self-interest.”

“Do they want to live in Gilead?” She asked. “Do they want to live in The Handmaid’s Tale?” She also said white Republican women are “voting against their own healthcare.”

However, Griffin brought up Hostin's own staunch views on abortion, which is that she doesn't support it even in incest or rape cases--a shocking reveal she made during a June episode of 'The View.'

Hostin’s stance surprised and angered viewers of the series, who wrote how they felt Hostin’s reasoning for her point of view was hypocritical.

But, Hostin said that even though she has that view, but is "very surprised that white, Republican, suburban women are voting against their own healthcare."

“I have not really recently evolved on the issue. I’m Catholic, that’s my faith. I believe that abortion is wrong for me. There’s a separation between a government and church, and I do not have the right to tell someone else [what to do]. However, they are voting against their own self-interest.”
