"As of today, we have transferred 12 HIMARS (rocket artillery systems) to Ukraine," he said.

"This is part of more than 20 (MLRS) that the U.S. and our allies have committed."

According to Milley, the United States has already trained 200 Ukrainian military personnel on HIMARS, and the training continues with many more.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin specified that, according to the latest agreements, an upcoming U.S. security assistance package to Ukraine would include four additional HIMARS, and their total number would reach 16.

The fourth multilateral meeting at the U.S. Ramstein Air Force base in Germany took place online on July 20. The negotiations, which involve the defense representatives of more than 50 countries, concern military support for Ukraine. The previous meeting was held in Brussels on June 15.

Thanks to HIMARS, the Ukrainian army was able to attack Russian ammunition depots in the temporarily captured and occupied territories. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny said that the U.S. weapons made it possible to stabilize the situation at the front.

In turn, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that Western weapons had helped reduce the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He added that the United States was satisfied with how well Ukrainian artillery men were using HIMARS and launching high-precision strikes at Russian targets.
