This Trailer Palace Is the Perfect Vacation Spot for Dog Parents This Summer

Back in May, I decided to get a support animal. I lived alone and this seemed like a good idea. That animal came in the form of a ginger-haired, Standard Poodle puppy named Coco, and while she’s been the biggest blessing, finding hotels and resorts that allow me to stay with my dog has been challenging. So I was delighted when I discovered a place in Joshua’s Tree, CA called Hicksville Trailer Palace.

Spreading over seven acres of land, Hicksville is an adults-only, retro vacation location that caters to the 21-and-up crowd and their furry, canine friends. The property includes a variety of cool amenities that you won’t find anywhere else and they’re all free with your stay. Scattered about the grounds are 11 individually designed vintage trailers specially curated for guests to stay in while visiting the property.

Queer, POC couple, Erica Beers and Rebecca Slivka purchased the property recently after being repeat guests at Hicksville Trailer Palace.

“We knew it was something special the first time we visited and we’re so excited for the opportunity to carry the torch with the brand,” Beers and Slivka said. “Our plans are to improve on what already exists and continue to add amenities and experiences that will surprise and thrill our guests.”

Some of those amazing, dog-friendly amenities include a ball pit, cooling pool, a 2-acre fenced fetch yard, and the exclusive dog area, Fort Dog, with hanging shades, water bowls, doggy day beds, and even more accommodation to ensure your pup is in doggy heaven.

Although kids are welcome on the property during quarterly Family Weekends and for entire property bookings, Hicksville Trailer Palace is limited to guests 21 years or older.

“We choose to have an adults-only property as the space is meant to invoke a fun, playful vibe and be an escape from everyday reality,” they said.

In addition to the fun-filled activities available for pets, Hicksville also caters to dog owners by allowing them to tap into their inner child and engage in playful games that activate their imagination and allow them to be their authentic selves. Aside from lounging poolside or sitting in the hot tub, guests can also enjoy the 9-hole miniature golf course, archery field, BB gun range, an arcade, pool tables, ping-pong, dartboards, shuffleboard, and cornhole. While there are dog-friendly properties throughout the country, Erica and Rebecca insist there is no place quite like Hicksville Trailer Palace. With its desert charm, this western property is the perfect spot for dog parents this Summer.

“Hicksville Trailer Palace is unlike any other accommodations you’ve experienced….yes there are other vintage trailer motels, but the unique themes, cool vibes, and variety of amenities are truly unique to us,” they said.

The couple says they have plans to expand the property however everything is under wraps right now. A magical playground for both dogs and adults, Hicksville is sure to be a favorite destination for pups everywhere.
