Sean and Catherine Lowe reveal the amount of time 'Bachelor' contestants really spend together

Sean and Catherine Lowe may have met in a pretty unconventional way, starring and getting engaged on "The Bachelor" in 2013, but today the couple insists that they live a pretty normal life together. Which is a feat in itself, considering they only really got to know each other over the course of three days.

While promoting a new partnership with Subway, celebrating the launch of the new cheesy garlic bread, the couple recently dished to AOL what it was really like to meet on the show. When asked how much time they actually had to get to know each other before Sean popped the question, Catherine revealed that it wasn't much.

"Like three just one-on-ones is what we had, because I was the last one-on-one on his season," she said. "So, you're really spending like 72 hours with this person."

Even so, Sean pointed out that on those dates there are producers, sound techs and camera people there as well, so it's not exactly easy.

Possibly the hardest part of meeting on the show, however, is sticking together. Sean and Catherine are only one of six couples to get married from "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" franchises in 36 seasons combined.

"It's easy to see why people break up," Catherine admitted. "You meet in this crazy alternate reality and you don't even have each other's phone numbers, but yet you have a ring on your finger. You don't come from the same city and now you have to compromise your entire life for this person you don't really know. I mean, it's very weird. Of course a lot of people don't make it."

Catherine moved from Seattle to live with Sean in his hometown of Dallas ahead of their televised wedding in 2014 and now they have two little boys, Samuel (2 years old) and Isaiah (7 months). They both work from home together and admit they enjoy nothing more than throwing on their sweats and watching TV.

"You know what's funny?" Sean said laughing. "On 'The Bachelor,' we kept saying this is great, because we're doing these like once-in-a-lifetime type of dates, but the sound of putting on sweatpants and lying on the couch — that was like a dream to us at that time. And now we're living that dream."

If you happen to be in Dallas and want to meet the Lowes, they're throwing an event with Subway on February 14, Valentine's Day, in Dallas. "Just come kick it with your mom or your kids or your friends," Catherine said.
