“The community and the North Adams-Jerome school have been a big supporter of making this possible within the North Adams Heritage Day celebration,” Talaski said.

Registration for the run starts at 6:15 a.m. at the high school and can be done at the event or online before the race at Eventbrite.com. The run is not timed, but bibs will be given out upon registration. The registration fee is $20 per person, whether you are running or walking, 5K or color run/walk. Participants are also encouraged to wear a white shirt.

“The event is supporting North Adams Heritage Days and our North Adams-Jerome Volleyball team,” Talaski said.

Eight different prizes will be given out to the participants who cross the finish line the fastest. All eight prizes were given by community sponsors from both the Jonesville and the Jackson areas, who Talaki said were crucial in helping put the event together.

Beginning at 9 a.m., the churches of North Adams are holding a bake sale, with 100% of the proceeds from the sale going back to the Heritage Day committee so the event can be held in years to come.

At 10 a.m. there will be a parade through the town. Lineup for the parade begins at 9 a.m. at the high school and at the end of the parade there will be a flag-raising ceremony at the Fire Barn.
