Now, I don't know about you, but wearing this mask so much is making my skin go crazy. I want to stay safe, but I want my skin to look good too. So today, I'm joined by Dr. Tess Mauricio. A top dermatologist to help me achieve both.

Hi, Dr. Tess. I'm so excited to have you here. How are you?

TESS MAURICIO: I'm doing great. Thank you for having me. I'm excited.

NURYS CASTILLO: I'm excited to have you here because you're going to give us some products that actually help us and help our skin while wearing this mask, correct?

TESS MAURICIO: Absolutely. What happens when we're wearing a mask? There's friction, there's moisture, there's compression. And so the barrier function of the skin, it actually gets dehydrated.

And we're getting a lot of calls from patients, they're breaking out. Their skin's red and irritated. And there are ways to try to really, you know, pamper the skin with products, and also tips to lessen those irritation.

Let's start with No7, Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream. This is a great day cream because it has SPF 30. And in addition, because it has powerful peptides, it also can help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. So it's multitasking, and I love that.

NURYS CASTILLO: Yup. Yup. I'm getting-- you know, I'm not that young anymore, Dr. Tess. Like, I need this.

TESS MAURICIO: The younger you start, the better, especially with sunscreen. And also it's good for even those who are acne prone. Some people also break up from their sunscreen. You have to be careful what type of moisturizer you use. And I love that this, even though it has sunscreen, it's good even for acne prone skin.

[RECORD SCRATCH]

NURYS CASTILLO: You have a little bit here.

TESS MAURICIO: Oh.

[BOING]

[LAUGHTER]

NURYS CASTILLO: You can't have--

TESS MAURICIO: Thanks for telling me that.

NURYS CASTILLO: So what kinds of masks are good for a hypoallergenic skin and sensitive skin?

TESS MAURICIO: Especially now, like I said, when we're wearing our mask, the protective barrier function of the skin is compromised. So using a weekly sheet mask is really, really important right now. One of my favorites is actually Soap & Glory, Speed Plump Moisture Mask. So what you do is, if you need instant hydration, you know, you can open this.

And I love that it comes in two pieces. And the hydrogel inside is soaked with super moisturizers that includes hyaluronic acid, rose, peony flower root, and oil extract. And then as far as scent, it has this sweet orange essential oil that is really, like, [INAUDIBLE] puts you in a zen relaxing mode.

NURYS CASTILLO: So what I saw is that up top is one mask, and then in the bottom is another one, correct?

TESS MAURICIO: Correct. And that allows you to really fit it into your face. It's hard, especially with you. You have a really small face. And so, you know, having the two sheets, I think you'll find that you'll have more contact in the areas that you want to hydrate.

NURYS CASTILLO: Is there something different for men who have beards?

TESS MAURICIO: Well, you have to remember that if you have a beard, you know, the protection from the mask is actually less. You have more of a gap. And then also with shaving, you can get ingrown hairs. And so it may be more important to use products, like Proactive, that have ingredients that actually really help break down those plugs.

I really like the Complexion Perfector Hydrator. It actually has salicyclic acid and hydrating ingredients, like sodium hyaluronate, bisabolol, and other botanicals. So that it's not harsh, but something like this is really good for those who have acne prone skin and if you're prone to ingrown hairs.

NURYS CASTILLO: I'm ready for the next product. What do we got?

TESS MAURICIO: This is one of my favorite products. It's No7's HydraLuminous Overnight Recovery Gel-- Gel Cream. Long name, but it says it all.

[LAUGHTER]

NURYS CASTILLO: I think that's still this one.

TESS MAURICIO: Oh, yeah. Hold on. Hold on.

[LAUGHTER]

I grabbed the wrong one because they look alike.

NURYS CASTILLO: I love it.

TESS MAURICIO: There is another blooper. So now let's talk about the evening. Evenings is a perfect time to really try to restore skin barrier and lock in moisture. So this is one of my favorite evening products. It is No7 HydraLuminous Overnight Recovery Gel Cream.

And it's a cool refreshing gel cream moisturizer, but it's really light. Some moisturizers tend to be sticky and thick, and it feel like your pores are being clogged. But this, you know, it just leaves your skin quenched, refreshed, re-energized. And it has that wonderful scent and--

NURYS CASTILLO: --this scent more than the other one, even though they're both good, but this one just like it's--

TESS MAURICIO: Well, because the other one has your SPF 30. So it's still kind of has that, but at least it doesn't smell like, you know, regular sunscreen. But this product also has incredible powerful antioxidant blend of your vitamin C, vitamin E, mulberry, and bisabolol, and that supports your skin's natural recovery.

You can use it for your face and neck. Many times, you see women where their faces look young and then the neck shows the age. Same thing with your day cream and your moisturizer. Apply it on the neck too.

NURYS CASTILLO: All right, so at the end of this show, we always choose the ultimate must have. So if someone can't get all these products, which one do you recommend that they have to have?

TESS MAURICIO: OK. So as a dermatologist, like I said, sun protection is key. And so my ultimate must have pick is our No7, Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream. It has SPF 30, moisturizing, and helps decrease the appearance of lines and wrinkles, all in one.

NURYS CASTILLO: To be honest, we're going to be wearing this for a really long time, right, Dr. Tess?

TESS MAURICIO: Yes, we are. And I really encourage everyone to wear your mask. I have to wear this heavy duty mask when I treat my patients. And my skin gets beat up. So I need all of these products too. There you go. Wear your mask, everyone.

NURYS CASTILLO: Dr. Tess, thank you so much. This was so informational, so I learned so much. Thank you.

TESS MAURICIO: Thank you for having me again today. Bye.
