The Freed to Run multi-marathon fundraiser begins today and ends on Saturday in Duval County
The Freed to Run multi-marathon fundraiser begins today, Monday, November 14, at the Florida Supreme Court in Tallahasse and ends at the Duval County Courthouse on Saturday, November 19. Six Marathons - one held each day - will take place between Talahasse and Jacksonville as a way to raise money for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and area health-care institutions that provide civil legal aid to pediatric patients and their families.
Baptist Health will match funds at 125 percent up to $1.25 million.
Jacksonville native and Olympic athlete Garrett Scantling will lead a 5k on Saturday in conjunction with the final marathon.
The Finish Line & Celebration will also take place on Saturday on the lawn of the Duval County Courthouse.
