"Florida is the state where 'woke' goes to die," says Gov. DeSantis (R-FL), who says "woke" five times in 19 seconds.

During a rally held in Miami alongside Republican Senator Marco Rubio, the evening of Tuesday’s primary, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) said “Florida is the state where 'woke' goes to die."

“We will fight the woke in the businesses. We will fight the woke and government agencies. We will fight the woke in our schools. We will never ever surrender to the woke agenda. Florida is the state where woke goes to die.”

Incumbent Governor Ron DeSantis will face Democrat Charlie Crist in the general election in November. Earlier that evening, Crist called DeSantis "abusive," "dangerous," and a "bully".

Crist expressed: "He could care less… he is dangerous, he imitates the worst authoritarian leaders on the globe. And it’s all a political game that he’s playing. He wants to appeal to extremists across the nation as he seeks the Republican nomination… He won't condemn hate or extremism. Governor DeSantis only cares about the White House, he doesn’t care about your house."
