Thunder Over Louisville's 2022 soundtrack has been released, with a wide-ranging playlist that should have some appeal to fans of all ages.

The playlist for Saturday's fireworks show aired Thursday morning in a soundcheck at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport Command Center at the Galt House, officials said, in anticipation of the massive upcoming showcase.

"Songs spotlighting a variety of artists over multiple music genres will entertain guests as they view one of the largest fireworks displays in the nation," the Kentucky Derby Festival said in a statement.

The playlist has hits for all audiences.

Some of the songs that will accompany the fireworks include "Cold Heart" by Dua Lipa and Elton John, "Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen, "God Bless America" by LeAnn Rimes and "'Industry Baby" by Lil Nas X and Louisville native Jack Harlow, to name a few. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 makes an appearance on the playlist as well, along with the theme from "Star Wars."

Each year, according to organizers, between 25 and 60 different songs and sound effects are used to build the soundtrack, which plays during the 9:30 p.m. fireworks show.

Several sound towers will be spread across Waterfront Park and the surrounding area to air the playlist. The towers will be located on the Belvedere, Thunder Chow Wagon, North Great Lawn, South Great Lawn, and Big Four Bridge Lawn.

The audience on the other side of the bridge, in Southern Indiana, can listen to the show through a sound feed that will be provided Upland Brewing Company.

Thunder Over Louisville is back this weekend after a two-year hiatus from Waterfront Park. The celebration, the biggest annual event sponsored by the Kentucky Derby Festival, begins with an afternoon air show and ends with fireworks after sunset.
