"Judging by the attacks that are going on around the perimeter of this exposure, starting from Bilohorivka and ending with Popasna, they are trying to expand the offensive with the prospect of reaching the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway," he said.

However, generally speaking, Russia has already transferred all available forces to the Ukrainian borders and the occupied territory, Mikhailov noted. The Battle for Donbas is likely to deplete the offensive potential of the Russian army, regardless of its outcome, the analytical team said.

Therefore, Mikhailov believes that it is difficult to calculate the actual current offensive forces of Russia in Ukraine, as the composition of the deployed battalion tactical groups was smaller than analysts estimated at the beginning of the all-out invasion.
