Balmain Is 'Need for Speed Unbound's' Latest Fashion Collaborator

Need for Speed Unbound might be one of the franchise's most adventurous projects to date, working with the likes of A$AP Rocky to produce a special Mercedes-Benz 190E and various other fashion partners for in-game collectibles. Now, Olivier Rousteing's Balmain joins the mix with its NFS Unbound collaboration, unveiling special liveries, characters and accessories.

Starting with the car, the Parisian House has designed a color-fade black to green honeycomb livery that adorns a heavily customized Lotus sportscar. From here, Balmain has designed its lead character -- Eleonore -- a custom dress based on a physical dress that debuted during the House's Fall 2022 Paris Fashion Week runway show, complementing the technical and futuristic design details that cover the sports car.

Adding to the outfit is a pair of Balmain B-IT sliders, which not only appear in the game but also in real life as 100 have been made for consumers. Elsewhere, rare digital versions of a Balmain jacket and jeans also feature in the game, allowing players to customize their character as they see fit.

The IRL Balmain B-IT sliders drop today on Balmain's website, while the in-game collaboration launches alongside the game's release on December 2, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via the EA app, Origin, Steam and Epic Game Store.

In other news, The Land Before Time has become The Hundreds' latest source of inspiration.
