Fort Madison 10, Oskaloosa 5

FORT MADISON — Oskaloosa saw their season come to a close on Friday as they dropped a 10-5 contest at Fort Madison.

The Indians were only outhit 11-10 in the game but walks and errors would be their downfall as they allowed five walks and two hit batsmen without getting any free passes the other way. They also committed six errors on the night.

Landon Briggs and Aiden North both had a pair of hits and RBIs for Osky while Colin Snitker also drove in a run. Jarrett Czerwinski suffered the loss after allowing seven runs, four earned, on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts in four innings of work.

No. 1 Winterset 9, Pella 2

WINTERSET — After knocking off Oskaloosa on Thursday, Pella made the trip to try and knock off the top-ranked Huskies of Winterset in the regional semifinals on Saturday with the Lady Dutch coming up short, 9-2.

It turned out to be one big inning that would hurt Pella's chances as they trailed 2-0 entering the third before a seven-run inning from the Huskies would balloon it to 9-0 as the Lady Dutch struggled at times defensively with six errors. But Pella would fight back from there, pitching three straight shutout innings while getting a pair of runs back.

The Pella offense was limited to three hits with Ava Curry getting a pair of them including a solo home run while Katie Pollock had the other hit and RBI. Saige De Jong would take the loss after giving up nine runs, three earned, on four hits with three walks and one strikeout in two-plus innings. Kiki Riggen was solid in relief allowing just one hit over four innings.

Pella ends 2022 with a 14-22 record and will lose three seniors.

No. 6 Van Meter 10, Pella Christian 0 (5)

VAN METER — The Eagles upset the Bulldogs in last year's regional final matchup to go to state, this year it was all Van Meter as they took down Pella Christian in five innings.

Van Meter used four runs in the first and another four in the third to leap out in front before adding another in the fourth and the walk-off run in the fifth.

Lilly Prickett threw five shutout innings for the Bulldogs while allowing just one hit and one walk with three strikeouts. Sydney Nunnikhoven had the lone hit for PC, a double that came in the fifth inning.

Pella Christian ends their season with a 10-22 record while graduating four seniors.
