Zendaya’s Bruno Mars Impression Can’t Beat New Spider-Man’s Rihanna Performance on ‘Lip Sync Battle”’

Everyone’s Spidey senses were tingling when Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Zendaya and Tom Holland swung by Lip Sync Battle. In a special appearance leading up to the MTV Movie and TV Awards, the two actors who star in the latest reboot put on an amazing performance.

Zendaya warmed up as Erykah Badu with a performance of “Tyrone.” The actress then moved on to a solid gold performance of Bruno Mars’s “24k Magic.” Not only was her performance amazing; the set was also outstanding — it included a plane fuselage, money-shooting guns, and a giant champagne bottle that shot gold confetti.

Not to be outdone, Tom Holland started off with Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me.” And while his performance was okay, it soon became clear that he was mostly focused on his main performance. For Holland’s main piece, he performed Rihanna’s song “Umbrella.”

Wearing patent-leather lederhosen, Holland crushed the complex choreography while it rained on stage. The audience was blown away by his athleticism and commitment to the song. Asked what she thought about her co-star’s performance, Zendaya said, “Honestly? That was incredible — I’m not gonna lie. That was amazing.”

Holland won the championship belt, and when they put it on him, he joked, “One of these belts I’d like to have for fightin’, but lip sync will do.”

Lip Sync Battle airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on Spike.
