'Younger' Cast Takes Our Millennial Slang Quiz

The biggest difference between a 40-year-old and a 26-year-old isn’t looks — it’s language!

The new TV Land comedy Younger stars Sutton Foster as a 40-year-old single mom named Liza, who decides to go back to work after being a housewife. But she finds that nobody wants to hire her as an assistant — until she decides to pass as a twentysomething.

It actually works: Liza lands a job as an assistant at a publishing firm alongside a young up-and-comer played by Hilary Duff. But while Liza may look youthful, she soon discovers how difficult it is to close that gap between her generation and the millennial one. To pull off the scheme, she needs to wear the right clothes, hang out with the right crowd, and speak the right language, which is tougher than it sounds. In fact, in the video above we tested the stars of the show — including Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, and Nico Tortorella — on their millennial vocabulary. Do they get turnt with their baes, or are they too basic?

“I think my lack of knowledge actually serves me well, because that’s part of Liza’s charm,” Foster tells Yahoo TV in our interview with the cast.

Younger premieres Tuesday, March 31 at 10 p.m. on TV Land.
