‘Young and the Restless’ Star Steve Burton Set to Exit the CBS Soap

“Young and the Restless” star Steve Burton is getting restless, and is leaving the show for a new challenge.

“Hey everyone, with lots of reflection, I have decided to move on from @YandR_CBS at the end of my contract in December,” the actor who plays Dylan McAvoy tweeted Thursday night.

“I’ve had an amazing time, but it feels right to move on to new adventures in my life. I can’t say enough about the AWESOME cast and crew. Much respect!,” he continued.

Burton joined the CBS soap in 2013 after previously appearing on “Out of This World,” “General Hospital” and “Days of Our Lives.” He was also an original cast member of “General Hospital: Night Shift.”

Now 46, Burton was on “General Hospital” for 22 years, during which time he won a Daytime Emmy as best supporting actor for his portrayal of Jason Morgan.

His departure comes hot on the heels of Justin Hartley leaving the soap to focus on “This Is Us.”
