Vote for the Most GIF-able Moment!

Today’s category in the Yahooies!, Yahoo TV’s awards celebrating the best of the 2014-15 TV season including summer shows, celebrates those moments that live in our memory in motion.

Spoiler alert for those who haven’t seen the Hannibal finale! The nominees for Most GIF-able Moment are…

The group hug, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

image

Sure, the dance party to Springsteen was nice, but the image that truly captures the feeling of Jon Stewart’s final night as host of The Daily Show is that of the returning correspondents rushing the desk to embrace him, then jumping up and down. Like a wise woman once said, laughter through tears is our favorite emotion. — Mandi Bierly

Cookie’s anatomy lesson, Empire

image

We all know Cookie could fill this category on her own, but there’s just something extra special about that time she made a dramatic exit from the family dinner she thought was going to be a romantic meal for two and lifted her fur coat to show her ex-husband’s new fiancée what she had underneath. — MB

The rising, Game of Thrones

image

Hail to the (Night’s) King, baby. The reigning ruler of the White Walkers shows off his neatest power for poor, defeated Jon Snow: the ability to make the dead rise again by merely lifting his arms. It’s enough to give you chills… and not just because of the Arctic temperatures around Hardhome. — Ethan Alter

The cliff dive, Hannibal

image

It was the culmination of three years of a murderous cat-and-mouse game — and some serious underlying sexual tension. In the series finale, after teaming up to dispense with serial killer Francis Dolarhyde, FBI profiler Will Graham and cannibalistic madman Hannibal Lecter collapsed into each other’s arms, exhausted, and shared an intimate embrace. Then Will grabbed hold of Hannibal and plunged off a steep cliff into the ocean, taking Hannibal with him. What?!?!? It’s one hell of a final image, and one that will linger on our palate for years to come.— Dave Nemetz

Peggy’s walk, Mad Men

image

All it took was a hallway, a cigarette, and a mean strut to transform Peggy Olsen into a literal walking meme. Don Draper’s estranged disciple entered the offices of McCann Erickson like she was one of Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. All that’s missing is a little green bag. — EA

Ron’s happy ending, Parks and Recreation

image

Ron Swanson prides himself on his rugged individualism. But he proved himself a bigger, better man when he accepted Leslie Knope’s offer of overseeing a resplendent piece of public property, the Pawnee National Park. Though he’d never admit it to anyone, least of all Leslie, Ron had finally found his happy place. This GIF will transport you to your own as well. — EA

Stepford Carol, The Walking Dead

image

Carol was a walking GIF in the Season 5 episode “Remember,” from pretending to struggle as she turned in her cumbersome weapon, to sitting down all smiles for her filmed interview in which she described herself as the “den mother.” We, however, are partial to the reveal of Carol’s new look and the straightening of her cardigan as she tells Daryl it’s “time to punch the clock and make the casseroles.” Cut to his stunned expression. — MB

Winners will be announced the week of Sept. 14.
