The newest actor to don the Superman suit has a few descriptive words for the Man of Steel.
The three words to describe Superman are “fun, loyal and honest,” according to “Supergirl” star Tyler Hoechlin , who recently wrapped up a two-episode stint on The CW drama.
The actor played a round of Wrapid Fire with TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell during a new episode of “Drinking With the Stars,” and also revealed whether he prefers Halloween or Christmas, whether he’s clumsy or agile and what his favorite scary movie is.
Hoechlin also revealed his favorite part about the Superman suit — “that it flies,” he said.
As for the complexities of actually taking flight, “the character has always made it look very quick and seamless, but it’s a bit of a group effort the first time,” Hoechlin said. “It’s very much like putting on a wet suit … [Now] we got it down to a science.”
Even though his plays an iconic role that comes with a lot of pressure for all the actors who take it on, Hoechlin recalled that he really didn’t even have to audition, he just had a meeting with executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg.
“We all found similar things about the character, about his story, very interesting,” he said. “We just hit it off and we were on the same page and that was really it.”
