On Today, Woody Harrelson teased fans of the classic sitcom Cheers just by mentioning the word “reunion.” It’s hard to imagine what that might look like these days, but who wouldn’t want to see Harrelson reprise his role as the dumb but lovable Woody Boyd? Harrelson has remained busy since the series came to an end in 1993, starring in dozens of films, from comedies to critically acclaimed dramas. It’s Harrelson’s new film, Wilson, in which he plays the title character, that brought about the thought of a reunion in the first place. He said that it took him back to his comedy roots. Namely, Cheers.
But, Cheers fans, don’t get your hopes up just yet. It doesn’t sound as if a reunion is very likely.
“I dream of having a reunion. Not a reunion where we do another show because I think, you know, that could turn out bad,” Harrelson said.
