In its second weekend, the horror thriller The Conjuring continued to haunt audiences to land in second place, conjuring up another $22.1 million for a strong box-office total of $83.9 million. Despicable Me 2 also continued to show legs, adding another 16,000,000 minions to its lair and crossing the impressive $300 million mark after four dastardly weeks. Another animated entry, the super-snail racing adventure Turbo, showed signs of slowing down in only its second lap, pulling in $13.3 for a total of $55.8 million.

Rounding out the top five this weekend was Grown Ups 2 with $11.5 million in its third week, crossing the $100 million mark and proving that Adam Sandler still has clout at the box office despite delivering another "critic-proof" movie.
