Will Forte Explains Why Amish Community Supports Trump

A super-PAC that supports Donald Trump has been making an effort to gain votes from the Amish community in states like Pennsylvania. On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Stephen wanted to find out if the Amish community actually supports Trump, so he interviewed Zachariah Miller (played by Will Forte) to get to the bottom of things.

Colbert asked whether Zachariah supported Trump. He replied with “Well, absolutely!” and turned his straw hat around to reveal “Make America Great Again” printed on it. Zachariah said that he likes Trump because “He’s a great builder. In fact, he helped me raise my barn.” Cut to a picture of a gold-plated barn with Trump in giant letters on the front. Zachariah said, “I’ll bet that’s what the barns in heaven look like.”

With more digging, Colbert learned that Zachariah had a more sinister reason for supporting Trump. Zachariah said, “Well, he’ll destroy this country! And then we’ll be the ones who are technologically advanced! With our plows and churns and candle making, we’ll be lords of the after-scape!”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
