‘Wheel of Fortune’ Ends in a Tie for the First Time in More Than a Decade

On Wednesday, Wheel of Fortune ended in a tie for the first time in more than 10 years, according to syndicator Sony Pictures Television.

Contestants Latoya and Danielle both finished the game with $24,000 in cash and prizes. And the tie-breaker, as it turns out, was not a jousting duel to the death as we assumed. It was actually what host Pat Sajak described as a “toss-up puzzle.”

The category was occupation, the answer was computer programmer, and Latoya was the winner, earning an additional $1,000 and advancing to the finals.

The sting wasn’t so bad for Danielle, who went home with $24,000. And the third contestant, Dylan, walked away with $5,900 and the excitement of just witnessing a rare Wheel of Fortune occurrence!
