We Finally Know What Happened to Glenn, and Here's How 'Walking Dead' Fans Reacted
Warning: This post contains spoilers for the “Heads Up” episode of The Walking Dead.
They made us wait nearly a full month to find out, but finally, fans of The Walking Dead have their answer: Yes, Glenn did survive that tumble into a zombie mosh pit, as this week’s episode confirmed. And fans on Twitter wasted no time in voicing their opinions about the big reveal.
First, of course, there were the celebratory GIFs and memes:

And also, some people who temporarily lost the ability to speak in the face of such joy:
OSKDNSJKXLXJAJSHX WHAT DOD I FREAKIN TELL YOU YAKCOANDBABAKQKA IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. #TheWalkingDead
— Nataya Hostetler (@Taya_Grace99)
There were a few naysayers, though, who didn’t love the fact that Glenn survived what looked like certain death:
Ain’t no way glen should’ve survived that. Never thought I’d be saying a zombie show is “fake” #TWD #TheWalkingDead
— Joe Adiasor (@AdiasorEffect)
I’m equal parts happy and pissed right now lmao. #TheWalkingDead
— Taryn C (@tarynor)
And… @WalkingDead_AMC just jumped the proverbial shark with this implausible, yet, predictable storyline. #TheWalkingDead #Lazy

And some residual anger, both towards the Walking Dead writers and anyone who doubted Glenn was alive:
Me to the producers of #TheWalkingDead for making me think Glenn died for 3 weeks… pic.twitter.com/vhzUEPtvwf

Plus, a few tributes to the object that saved Glenn’s hide: the humble Dumpster.

if anyone ever tries to call me trash as an insult I’ll just remind them that trash is what kept Glenn alive. #TheWalkingDead

One fan wanted to remind us that Glenn informed us of his fate way back in Season 1:

— Daryl Dixon (@ImmortalDixon)
There was a philosophical musing about the deception the TWD producers managed to pull off:
If The Walking Dead fooled me, what else has TV been lying about to me? pic.twitter.com/JMnypyYLdc
— Dave Itzkoff (@ditzkoff)
And finally, there were some who can’t even deal with the fact that we have to wait another whole week to see what happens to Glenn in the midseason finale:
