Watch the 'Hit the Floor' Season 3 Super Trailer

Hit the Floor, VH1′s soapy courtside drama centered on the fictional Los Angeles Devils and, more importantly, the Devil Girl dancers, will return Jan. 18 for its third season. We have your first look at the always-sexy super trailer above.

“Season 3 is our Dynasty season,” creator James LaRosa tells Yahoo TV via email. “It’s all about ambition, going for what you want, and going hard. And the stakes are high. It makes some strange bedfellows, and tears some relationships apart. The question will be, who’s left standing in the end?”

With the Devils owner, Oscar Kinkade (Don Stark), arrested for murder, Lionel (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) — the ex-wife of Coach Pete (Dean Cain) who will continue to make life hell for him and Sloane (Kimberly Elise) — takes Oscar’s chair. From the trailer, it seems Lionel may find an ally in Jackson Everett, a new character played by recurring guest star Billy Baldwin. LaRosa describes Jackson as “a billionaire who loves sport — on the court, in the boardroom, in the bedroom. And he always wins. He has ties to someone inside Devils Arena and plays into Season 3 in a big way.”

Ahsha (Taylour Paige) is back with her longtime boyfriend German (Jonathan “Lil J” McDaniel). She doesn’t know what fans found out in the Season 2 finale — German’s the one who murdered Olivia Vincent (which LaRosa admits was “an insane cliffhanger”). The love triangle, however, is alive and well: Bad boy MVP Derek (McKinley Freeman) has vowed to get Ahsha back.

Jelena (Logan Browning), everyone’s favorite mean girl/mastermind, will continue to pull the strings while tending to an injured Terrence (Robert Christopher Riley), who, it would appear from the trailer, has a surprise headed his way.

Other guest stars in Season 3 include Lynn Whitfield, who returns as Jelena’s mother, Vanessa Howard; Andy Buckley (Veep, The Office), who’ll play Adam Oberman, an ambitious league official; and Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls, Dancing With The Stars), whose character, Lucas, is a sports agent who causes friction between Jude (Brent Antonello) and Zero (Adam Senn).

The season premiere will be dedicated to Stephanie Moseley, who played Devil Girl Arelly. She was tragically killed last December before production began. To honor her memory and contribution to the series, a new Devil Girl character has been named Stephanie. “Stephanie was our heart,” LaRosa says. “Our new character Stephanie had to have a huge heart. And huge talent. She can dance you through the floor, just like our girl.”

Hit the Floor Season 3 premieres Monday, Jan. 18 at 10 p.m. on VH1.
