Watch as ‘The Mick’ Spreads the Love ... but Not Too Much

Once upon a time, Fox was the bad boy of network television. Shows like The Simpsons and Married … With Children legitimately stirred up watchdog groups concerned that family sitcoms had become seedy and immoral. Well, Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) is about to bring those days back with The Mick.

In this exclusive clip from the premiere, Mickey (Olson) finds that she’s not quite the woman of the people that she believes herself to be. Her rich (and morally suspect) sister has fled the country and left the poor (and also morally suspect) Mickey to look after the luxurious estate and three children. The only sane person there is the housekeeper, Alba (Carla Jimenez), who can only watch as the madness takes off around her.

The series premieres after the NFL double-header on New Year’s Day before taking its regular Tuesday time slot. Olson and the show’s creators, John and Dave Chernin, all spent years on Sunny and have lost none of that show’s trademark anarchy, while infusing it with sweetness that is as unexpected as it is wonderful.

The Mick premieres Sunday, Jan. 1, before moving to Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.
