‘Walking Dead’ Star Deletes Twitter Account After Receiving Death Threats

Actor Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene on The Walking Dead, has had to delete his social media accounts after some fans began targeting him with death threats. Apparently, the seemingly confused fans were upset with Eugene’s recent actions on the show in Season 7 and can’t tell the difference between the actor and the character he plays.

So we here at Yahoo put together a PSA to help keep things straight. Josh McDermitt is NOT Eugene. Josh McDermitt is a nice, fun guy who does things like play “Name That Mullet” and “Chubby Bunny” for our amusement, and you should all really leave him alone and stop harassing him. A hashtag has sprung up online to combat the hate he’s been receiving, so if you’re as big a fan of Josh McDermitt as we are, tweet him some support at #welovejoshmcdermitt and stop the insanity.
