‘Walking Dead’ Recap: Rick Fights His Way Out of Trash Pile

On The Walking Dead, Rick and company emerged from a junkyard dungeon into the Mad Max trash pile of your dystopian dreams. Despite Rick’s convincing pitch to leader Jadis that when it comes to the Saviors, either they kill you or they own you, Jadis was unmoved to join the fight against them.

But after her prisoner, Gabriel, vouched for Rick with a rousing speech, Jadis put Rick to the test by taking him to the “up up up” and then knocking him straight down into a trash pile hole, where he came face to face with a supernasty undead that goes by the name of Winslow.

When Winslow isn’t posing for Iron Maiden album covers in his spare time, he’s out for brains, but Rick had something to say about that. After knocking Winslow out with a pile of trash and a makeshift knife to the face (over and over again), Rick had proven his worth, and Jadis was on board with making deals.

Meanwhile back at the Kingdom, Richard and Daryl were becoming fast friends, until Richard revealed that his plan to antagonize the Saviors with guns and Molotov cocktails also involved the death of Daryl’s long-lost friend, Carol.

Daryl went on to find Carol’s secluded cabin, and we witnessed the long overdue and tearful reunion of these two best friends.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
