“The Walking Dead” is coming back to life for Season 7.
The latest promo, released by AMC shows King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) proclaiming his reign.
“We’ve been looking for you,” a voiceover states over the opening footage. “I am King Ezekiel,” the ruler declares with a staff in his hand seated next to his tiger. “Welcome to the kingdom.”
Morgan Jones (Lennie James) also looks to kick things into high gear. “I can’t let you die out there,” he says.
The 16-episode season will be split into two parts: The first eight episodes will air in the fall, and the second half will debut in February, 2017.
In the first half of Season 7, the group is fractured, picking up the pieces from where they left off while living under oppressive conditions. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) brutally convinces them to live by his rules.
