Walking Dead Ahead: The End of Carol?

After an assault on Negan that was perhaps… a tad too easy to execute, Rick and The Walking Dead gang celebrated their victory. Unfortunately, a moment later they found themselves at the mercy of Carol and Maggie’s captors, presumably more Saviors that were on a scout during the raid.

We know that Negan has yet to rear his ugly head, and if we’ve read the comics — **STOP RIGHT HERE IF YOU WANT TO REMAIN SPOILER-FREE** — that he is going to kill one of Rick’s own right off the bat (sorry, for the pun, but Negan would want it that way). In the comics, Glenn died in a gruesomely, gut-wrenching way. But the series doesn’t always play by the same rules.

If we had to put our paycheck on it, we’d bet that Carol is going to be Negan’s first victim. She has been somewhat of a bipolar loose cannon for some time now, easily switching back and forth between Holly Homemaker and Rambo. And this past episode established that she doesn’t want another mother(-to-be) following in her footsteps: Maggie. Carol may have to lay down her own life to make sure that Maggie doesn’t lose hers. And it will be devastating. And Rick will fugue his way through an army of walkers, until he feels slightly better about it all.

But what do you think? Will Carol die? What’s your Superfan theory? Let us know in the comments below.
