Vin Diesel Implores James Corden to Let Him Do 'Carpool Karaoke'

xXx: Return of Xander Cage star Vin Diesel may be best known for furiously driving really fast cars, but when he visited The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday, he thought of something else he would like do in a car. It started when Diesel began to sing part of a song that he sings in the movie and Corden joined in to finish the line. At this point it should be fairly obvious where this is headed: “Carpool Karaoke.”

“Carpool Karaoke” has quickly become one of the biggest hits in all of late night, and stars want to be a part of it. It’s not just for singers, either. George Clooney and Julia Roberts appeared in an episode, and Michelle Obama was the guest for another. Before asking Corden if he could do it, Diesel first asked the crowd, which seemed pretty fond of the idea. Corden was on board, too, even though Diesel’s idea for where to do it might not be ideal. Diesel wants to do it in his hometown of New York City, which means traffic — heavy traffic.

Diesel and Corden doing “Carpool Karaoke” in New York would be less like the segment we’ve all come to know and love and more like a couple of dudes sitting in an idling car belting out tunes at the top of their lungs. Which tunes those would be exactly remains to be seen.
