Video Premiere: ‘Voice’ Winner Sawyer Fredericks Is Ready to ‘Take It All’

The Voice Season 10 kicks off this month, and reigning champ Jordan Smith is gearing up to eventually release some original music… but it’s the career of Season 8 Voice winner Sawyer Fredericks that’s really getting started. After surprise-releasing his self-titled Republic Records EP last November and performing its first single, “Take It All,” on a live Voice results show, the 16-year-old folk-rock prodigy is finally premiering the official video for that song, right here today on Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks.

“I had a really good time working with the cast and crew on this video, and I think [director] Chris Acosta created a very beautiful story,” says Sawyer of the clip, which was shot in Southern California’s Simi Valley. The video and single provide a preview of what’s to come when Sawyer releases his full-length album later this year.

Visiting Yahoo’s studio last year the day after his Voice “Take It All” performance, Sawyer spoke with Reality Rocks about working with his coach Pharrell Williams on his forthcoming album, fighting for his artistic choices during his time on The Voice and in the recording studio, and balancing his former farm-boy life with his shiny new showbiz career.
