‘This Is Us’ Star Milo Ventimiglia Did an Insane Number Push-Ups for a Scene

This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia dropped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where he revealed the unbelievable number of push-ups he did for a scene. The scene he was referring to was the memorable moment in a dojo when his character Jack performed push-ups with his son on his back.

The scene was designed to reinforce that he is going to have to figuratively carry his son on his back and help him grow up to be a good man. When asked how many push-ups he did while filming the scene, the star said, “That day I think I did 223 push-ups with Lonnie [Chavis] on my back. That’s what the editors told me.”

For those who follow Ventimiglia’s Instagram account, push-ups are no new thing. Ventimiglia and co-stars Sterling K. Brown and Justin Hartley apparently do push-ups on set to remind each other that they have each other’s backs.
