Univision TV station content in L.A. and Miami will become available via mobile devices, the Spanish-language media giant said Tuesday.
The Mobile Content Venture and Univision Communications' Univision Television Group said that Univision will join the network of broadcasters deploying Dyle, the consumer-facing brand presenting live mobile TV, in the two big Hispanic markets of L.A., where Univision operates KMEX, and Miami where it owns WLTV.
MCV is a joint venture focused on facilitating a national mobile content service for live TV. The Univision stations join more than 70 U.S. stations, including ones from MCV members Pearl Mobile DTV (Belo Corp., Cox Media Group, E.W. Scripps Co., Gannett Broadcasting, Hearst Television, Media General, Meredith Corp., Post-Newsweek Stations and Raycom Media), as well as NBC, Telemundo, Fox, Bahakel and Ion Television, which previously announced plans to enable stations to transmit a mobile broadcast. Univision Communications is led by CEO Randy Falco.

MCV now expects to offer its mobile video service on more than 72 stations in 32 markets, reaching 50 percent of the U.S. population. Key markets include New York, LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas, Washington D.C., Miami, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Detroit, Tampa, Phoenix, Minneapolis and Cincinnati.
MCV is building the new national mobile digital TV service by utilizing existing broadcast spectrum to enable member companies to deliver content to mobile devices, including live and on-demand video, local and national news from print and electronic sources, as well as sports and entertainment programming.
