Tyler, The Creator Raps Dr. Seuss Book
What Pet Should I Get?, which is Dr. Seuss’s first published book since he passed away in 1991, features a sister and brother visiting a pet store where they try to figure out what lovable creature they should bring home. Featuring the beloved children’s author’s distinctive artwork and rhymes, the book was a welcome surprise to so many who grew up reading his work.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Tyler, The Creator — the leader of the hip-hop collective known as Odd Future — gave a bizarre, stilted performance where he rapped Seuss’s words. As part of the bit, host Jimmy Kimmel would interrupt the rapper with suggestions on how to make the segment better. It seemed as though Tyler wasn’t really into the sketch, and later he confirmed those suspicions when he tweeted this:
