TV News Roundup: ‘Ray Donovan’ Sets Season 4 Premiere Date; Maria Botto Joins ‘Good Behavior’ Cast

Maria Botto has been cast in the TNT drama “Good Behavior.” Also in today’s roundup, Showtime has released a new trailer for crime drama “Ray Donovan” Season 4 and Fuse has set a premiere date for its horror film “Zoombies.”

CASTING:

Hannah Marks will play the female lead in BBC America’s new scripted drama Dirk Gently,” where she’ll star opposite Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnett, Variety has learned. Marks will play Todd Brotzman’s (Wood) sister, Amanda Brotzman, a former rebellious punk and fun gal, now sick, sidelined by a genetic disorder. Todd and Amanda are deeply connected. Marks is represented by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal Laviolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman.

Maria Botto has been cast in TNT’s “Good Behavior,” Variety has learned exclusively. The sister of series regular Juan Diego Botto, Maria joins the Michelle Dockery-starring drama in a recurring guest role. Art will imitate life as Botto will play the on-screen sister of her real-life brother’s character, Javier. Her character, Ava, is the only member of their Argentinian family who speaks to him in the wake of a tragic family event that occurred when Javier was sixteen. At the time, Ava was already living in Savannah, Georgia with her American husband, and she took Javier in immediately. While the siblings have always had an unbreakable bond, Ava does not know what Javier does for a living. Botto starred in Amazon’s series “Mad Dogs,” as well as the original UK series that ran for four years. Currently, she can be seen in the film “Risen,” opposite Joseph Fiennes.

PREMIERE DATES:

Showtime has set June 26 as the premiere date for Season 4 of “Ray Donovan,” the network announced Friday. The drama, starring Liev Schreiber as L.A.’s best professional fixer, is currently shooting its 12-episode season in Los Angeles.

The 9 p.m. premiere of “Ray Donovan” will be followed at 10 p.m. by the debut of new one-hour ensemble comedy series “Roadies,” from creator, writer, director and executive producer Cameron Crowe. The “Roadies” cast includes Luke Wilson as tour manager of a band and Carla Gugino as the tour’s production manager.

Fuse has a set a Friday the 13th (of May) premiere date for “Zoombies.” Hailing from the producers of “Sharknado,” the animal zombie horror film will feature zombie versions of monkeys, giraffes and koala bears. The premiere will kick off the cabler’s “Scary AF” weekend marathon event, which will include airings of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D,” “The Devil’s Tomb,” “247ºF,” “Pathology” and “Vampire Bats.”
