'Turn: Washington's Spies' Exclusive Preview: Benedict Arnold Takes What's (Not) His

His name is synonymous with being a traitor, but the third season of AMC’s Revolutionary War drama Turn: Washington’s Spies continues to unfold the story behind Benedict Arnold’s growing unhappiness with his role in George Washington’s military, including the eventual moment of his notorious defection.

In the exclusive clip above, from the Season 3 premiere episode “Valediction,” Arnold (Owain Yeoman) is furious that his government is three years behind on his paychecks, despite his wartime heroics and injuries. So he decides to get his due in another way: directing some sweet furniture, seized during war efforts, towards his new crib in Philadelphia, instead sending them off to auction as he’s supposed to do.

And when the Commissioner of Forfeiture tries to thwart Arnold’s interior design plans, he finds himself staring down a barrel of resentment… and eventually tossed across the room.

Elsewhere in the premiere, Arnold’s fellow spy Abe Woodhull (Jamie Bell) covers up a murder with the most unlikely of an accomplice. The series is based on Alexander Rose’s book Washington’s Spies: The Story of America’s First Spy Ring.

Turn: Washington’s Spies Season 3 premieres April 25 at 10 p.m. on AMC
