Triumph the Insult Comic Dog Crashes Live CNN Broadcast

Don Lemon was hosting a panel discussion about the Democratic National Convention on CNN in the wee hours of the morning when everyone’s favorite puppet, Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog, crashed the set.

“The bar is closed, so I figure what else is I going to do here?” Triumph told the panel. “There’s no more food, there’s no more drinks. Might as well be on the TV show no one’s watching.” “That’s not true!” Lemon protested while laughing. “Pay attention!” Triumph shouted to the people near the CNN set. “Pay attention! Nobody, nobody pays attention to Don Lemon! Don Lemon is an overnight legend!” He then started a chant of, “Lemon! Lemon!”

It wasn’t all just “praise” for Lemon, though. “Don Lemon, do they even pay you fairly?” Triumph asked. “Or do they spend all their money shrinking Anderson Cooper’s black T-shirts?” Finally, Lemon asked Triumph to leave. It was a good moment for CNN. The channel gained some experience standing up to an obnoxious blowhard. That’ll probably be useful at some point this fall.
