Watch New 'Daily Show' Host Trevor Noah's Best Comedy Bits

The two most Googled words on the Internet today are almost certainly Trevor Noah. That’s the name of the relatively little-known (on these shores anyway) South African comedian who just inherited Jon Stewart’s perch as the head of The Daily Show.

Noah has only made three appearances on Comedy Central’s flagship late-night program (his first, seen above, was in December 2014), but he has a great deal of experience commenting on political and social issues in a hilarious way, both as a stand-up comic and as the host of several radio and TV shows in his native country. “Although I’m a guy who happens to be not from the same place that Jon’s from, I’ve lived in America for years before I went back out on the road and I’ve learned to love the place,” Noah told the Associated Press

"I’m joining the team," he added. "I get to be a part of that as the host and a face, sharing that space with my fellow correspondents." Noah’s got his former boss’ stamp of approval: "I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor," the departing Daily Show host — whose end date has yet to be announced — said. “He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve loved working with… In fact, I may rejoin as a correspondent just to be part of it.”

Here’s a look back at some of Noah’s most memorable on-camera moments to give you a taste of what the future of The Daily Show might sound like.

Trevor Noah: Crazy Normal (2011)
In his second South African comedy special, Noah shows off the benefit of his international background, as he provides viewers with an audio tour of how different airport announcers — from England to China — wield the mic.

Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution (2012)
Noah finds comedy in the story of his birth — he was born to a black mother and white father, a relationship that was illegal in South Africa at the time — and his perceptions of what it means to be black in America.

Trevor Noah: That’s Racist (2012)
While on a trip to L.A., Noah gets a crash course in a uniquely Californian culinary experience: food truck tacos and the accompanying napkins… um, make that serviettes.

Live at the Apollo (2014)
Taking the stage at London’s Hammersmith Apollo Theatre for the BBC’s long-running stand-up comedy showcase, Noah killed it with a bit about traffic light culture in Britain.

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11:30 p.m. on Comedy Central.
